6/6/06....Sign of the Devil Day?

June 5, 2006 (I'm a day behind) embarked my two year relationship anniversary with my special loved one who wants to be named anonymous. Those who know me know who this person is. We basically started the day early by having breakfast at Bette's Oceanview Diner in Berkeley on 4th Street. I had their daily special of Frittata with cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and basil. It also included homestyle potatoes and toast. My anonymous girlfriend had two eggs. Breakfast was great and it's a small friendly All American Diner with a giant piece of pie hanging from it's ceiling.

Secondly, we drove across the Richmond/San Rafael bridge to hike Muir Woods. The drive down to Muir Woods was really fun. I love two lane roads that constantly twist and turn! It makes the drive fun....especially when you can downshift and accellerate into the turns. The only downfall was having to follow a grandpa driving his big Cadillac. We arrived at Muir Woods early enough to get front door parking before the crowd arrived. Muir Woods has the traditional deckwood redwood tree path, but we decided to take the Oceanview Trail. There are about five different trails that you can hike within the Muir Woods area, but we decided to only hike for about one and a half hours. It was a nice hike and greatest aspect of hiking in Muir Woods is the fact that the tall redwood trees shade you from the bright sunlight. There weren't very many people on the trail we chose and it was a nice refreshing walk.

After the small hike in Muir Woods, we proceeded up north to Bodega Bay for a special lunch treat. Again, another scenic drive through small towns and smelly farms. We decided to have lunch at the famous wharf location of Alfred Hitchcock's movie, "The Birds." The name of the place is "The Inn at the Tides." There is a restuarant that was rather crowded and a bit on the pricey scale. We did not eat at the famous restaurant but there is a hidden secret Snack Bar towards the back, opposite of the restaurant. At this snack bar you can get burgers, bbq oysters, chowder bowls, clam strips, chicken tenders; just to name a few. It's the perfect place to eat if your on a budget and you can sit and enjoy the same view that the expensive restaurant has to offer. We ordered fish and chips and a clam chowder in a bread bowl. It was nice to enjoy a delicious lunch, a great view of the ocean, and eat on a famous movie set.

After lunch, we decided to head back down south to return to San Francisco. Since we had time to spare, I decided to teach my girlfriend how to drive a car with manual transmission in a big open lot at the Presideo. Showed her how to "ride the clutch" until her leg got tired and so did the car. Spent a good half an hour with minimal neck whiplash then proceeded downtown for window shopping and dinner.

For dinner, we didn't go out to some fancy restaurant to celebrate because we were dressed causually and we were wearing muddy shoes for the Muir Woods hike. We chose to eat at the Cheesecake Factory at the top of the downtown women's Macy's for it diverse variety of food. We had the avocado egg rolls for appetizer, I had the hugarian gulosh, and anonymous friend had the cajun jambalaya. Grabbed an Oreo Cookie Cheesecake to go for dessert.

Then we rushed home early to catch the final episoide of the Apprentice. I was disappointed that Lee didn't win, but we can go into discussion about that later.

Overall, we had a enjoyable day spent together since it doesn't happen very often. Check for pictures of our event on my website soon.

All anonymously sweet... I can't believe you wanted Lee to win, though. We'll have to talk later, about that buddy.
