Hello DSLR World!

The new toy is a Canon EOS Rebel T1i DSLR camera. It's a replacement camera and a step up for me to explore the greater flexibility into digital SLR camera technology. I somewhat got fed up with the limitations of a point and shoot camera, and it's just another excuse for me to keep up with the Jones'.
This is a great camera; especially considering it's price tag in comparison to other cameras in it's class. It's priced just below $850, which is a bargain considering what this camera can pump out. One of the selling features for me was the capability to capture HD video.
Here are a few general specs:
![]() | New 15.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor with DIGIC 4 Image Processor for faster processing of fine detail and natural color reproduction, 14-bit A/D conversion for smooth color tones and gradations. |
![]() | Full HD video capture at 1920 x 1080 resolution with HDMI output for HD viewing of stills and video. |
![]() | Live View Function for stills (Quick, Live and Face Detection AF modes) and video. |
![]() | 3.0-inch Clear View LCD (920,000 dots/VGA) monitor with anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coatings for improved viewing and smudge protection. |
![]() | Auto Lighting Optimizer for superior highlight-shadow control. |
![]() | Wide range ISO setting 100-3200 (ISO expansion: 6400, 12800). |
Come to think of it, my second blog post on this blog was about the point and shoot camera listed below (the Canon PowerShot SD550. Going to pass the PowerShot SD550 down to Sherry to use since her digital camera is broken.
