Mac & Cheese for the Rich $$$

Went to a Whole Foods Market today for the first time. I tend to stay far away from yuppie stores like these (no offense to yuppies). I keep my distance especially when this grocery store is classified/nicknamed as the "Whole Paycheck". Yes, they do serve quality, wholesome, non trans fat items, organic foods, fresh local farmed produce; but at a high price! At high prices that only a few Americans can afford......aaahhemmm....just the healthy and wealthy!

Everyone knows that Mac & Cheese is what Americans call good ole' American comfort food. It's also an inexpensive staple of some low income families. I am in no way making fun of low income families that eat Mac & Cheese, but you can automatically ask anyone who grew up on government issued foods, they will tell you they ate Mac & Cheese. Made from the box or from the blocks of government cheese given out. Why, because it's cheap and hearty.

Now back to the topic of Whole Foods. Here is what I found in their hot food deli area.

$13.13!!!!!! This photo was not edited or doctored in any way shape or form. You can go to Whole Foods and look for it yourself if you don't believe me; along with an entire store full of other overpriced items. Who in the right mind spends $13 dollars on Mac & Cheese! Is this made of some kind of rare cheese or prepared by some famous gourmet chef? Sure, it's ready to eat, it's nice and warm, and it's also $13!!! I couldn't believe it!

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying more for quality, but at the same time. I know when to draw the line. This is flat out robbery! What's worse, there are wealthy individuals that spend their hard earned money on stuff like this for their spoiled little kids!

Be smart with your money. Don't overpay if you don't have to. It's not my business to tell people how to spend their money, but let's get real here! I can just sit here for hours venting at some of the outrageous prices for specific items.

It's perhaps just another placebo effect to consumers who are paying out of their ass to think they are getting quality, healthy food. Honestly, they are not getting what they are paying for. Guess what people! The CEO of Whole Foods is just laughing to the bank...not to mention that he makes $350K+ annually.

Just by walking through this store, I can spot a weathly individual just by measuring their FULL cart.

It's just one of those things as a budget conservative individual myself cannot understand. I'll make it simple for myself. Just shut up and never spend a dime at this place. Sure I can afford to shop here, but who in the right mind likes to waste their money.
