Random Stuff....

I have my first weekend off approaching within a few days. Looking forward to a little R&R whenever these days approach. Especially when we are shorted handed staff wise. It's been nice that I have rotating days where I can sleep in and not show up to work until noon. So I feel at least a little bit more rested with the late start rotation.

Yesterday, (Tuesday, August 15) I made a really good dinner with the ingredients we had in the fridge. We had some red potatoes. So I boiled them, mashed them up, added fresh chopped garlic, butter, and some milk...to make some good MASHERS. For vegetables, we had some zucchini provided from one of Sherry's co-worker's uncle. The zucchini was compliemented with red onion strips stir fried with butter and a zest of fresh lemon juice. For the main dish, I prepared BBQ Breaded Chicken breast strips. There was plenty of leftovers available. My sister made some fresh sourdough rolls....and we made chicken sandwiches out of them for lunch.

WE CAN WATCH TV!!!! I'm not sure if I posted in previous blogs that my TV's motherboard took a dump. So after one month of waiting for the replacement part, they finally installed it and we can now watch MOVIES! We did notice that there was a $20 decrease in our PG&E bill from the lack of having a TV. It doesn't surprise me that a 50" plasma can use that much power.

Today the Cobalt is in the shop for modifications. For those of you who don't know already, I named my car "Claire." I chose the name Claire because I usually name the car with the same beginning letter of the car model name. Plus at Novato Chevrolet...where the car was purchased from, the business manager's name is Claire as well......just named out of coincidence...and it's easier to remember. I'm having the GM Performance Stage 2 upgrade done to my car. The kit contains the following:
  1. 3" pulley for the supercharger. The smaller the diameter of the pulley, the more boost the supercharger generates. At stock, the car produces 12psi of boost. The new pulley should produce up to 14-15psi of boost.
  2. New fuel injectors from 4.3gms/second to 5.3gms/second....basically more fuel spray!
  3. ECM reflash to increase the rev limiter to 7000K RPMS.

All these upgrades should produce up to 40+ more horsepower. Now after this upgrade, I'm going to shop for a full exhaust system....from the header, to the downpipe, to the cat back exhaust. More pollution into the air!

On a closing note....with the weekend approaching.....I have time to enjoy time with friends and family. Life cannot be better.
