Christmas in May


As I walk into my office in the morning, I stumble upon two boxes that I've been long awaiting for. One box is large and the second is small. Excited like child in a toy store; it was my normal instinct to open the large box first. Enclosed in the large box was my new Executive Leather Office Chair. The original office chair I normally sit on was due for retirement. I would pump the chair up in the morning and by mid afternoon, I'd would nearly be in a squat position close to the floor. So I open the box up assemble the chair. I lean the chair back, get comfortable, spin around a few times, and test the hydraulics. Everything is fine and I can get started on my daily routine of work.

As I'm sitting comfortably in my new office chair, I clear off my desk for the smaller box. Enclosed in the box was my new Canon Powershot SD550 Digital ELPH Camera that I purchased from Dell. I've been eyeing this camera for a least six months, and it happened to be on sale with free shipping. I know that Canon just released some new models, thus the great selling price. It's hard to keep up with technology these days. My previous digital camera was the Canon Powershot G2, and it took a dump after four years of reliable service. The calling for a new digital camera finally came, and now I'm ready to take random photos. This new camera is great. It's compact enough for my pocket, has great resolution for it's size, and it's 7.1 Megapixels. So back to opening up the camera box. Some of my co-workers are curious as to what I'm opening up since they know that I'm an avid spender on online deals. Whenever a box comes in for me, my parts department always ask me, "What did you buy now?"

I charge up the battery and snap a few shots! This is fun! Now I have a new camera to snap photos and post on my website. So watch out!

Decided to pull the trigger on getting the iPhone 6S series since AT&T was the last of the large mobile carriers to drop the two year contract phone option.  Now all the mobile companies require you to pay retail price for the phone or you'll have to finance the phone in your monthly bill payments. I was a bit skeptical in the beginning on getting the 6SPlus due to it's size. I have large hands, so it actually looks like a regular 6s in my hands. Although after reading the reviews, I was more sold on the 4K video aspect with image stabilization (a feature only available on the 6s Plus). I've also noticed that I've always purchased the "S" version of the iPhone. My main reason for getting the 'S' models is due to some of the revised enhancements done to the phone prior to the predecessor. Never understood what the S was abbreviated for. Is it short for: Security? Sucker? Speed? Sound? Sensitivity? Who knows? It's a great phone...

We found a home!

Moving back to Castro Valley, CA! We found a place just a few miles away from our previous residence. Closed escrow ironically on September 11th.  The real estate market has be really crazy! The bidding process had its challenges. Low mortgage interest rates along with limit inventory is just a recipe for challenges in itself. Glad it's over with and we have keys to our new place! Our place is very centrally located in town! Close to Taylor's school, close to shopping, close to parks, close to the hospital, very close to our family dentist, and best of all--Taylor lives a few houses down from her best friend!  Overall, we are very pleased with our house in all its 1980's glory. Not much was done to the house for 40 years, but it was at least well kept. That means it can get the updates that we prefer as homeowners.
